Oak

Oak Prime Grade Wood Floor | AB Grade Engineered Wood Flooring
Prime grade wood floor, also known as AB grade, is usually the highest quality wood flooring available to consumers. This categorisation is given due to a number of different parameters that are all satisfied by oak prime grade wood floor.

Knots and marks in oak prime grade wood floor
One of the most prominent characteristics of prime grade wood floor is the fact that it has a minimal amount of knots. An AB grade wood floor has natural markings found on trees - but these marks are only allowed in the prime grade wood floor if they are small and almost unnoticeable. Any cracks that may be found in prime grade wood floor would be very hard to see.

Other characteristics of AB grade wood floor
The grain of AB grade wood floor is much straighter than any other grade - another reason why it is defined as being of better quality than most other wood grades. The planks of an oak prime grade wood floor also have (generally) minimal colour variation, so they basically have a uniform hue throughout the room. Another premium characteristic of oak prime grade wood floor is that it has very little amount of filler. However, these planks are harder to come by and are therefore a bit more expensive.
