Marldon MXA300 Contract full stick down adhesive

Marldon MXA300 contract wood floor adhesive is a high strength single-part hybrid adhesive glue with tension reducing flexibility suitable for engineered wood.

Marldon MXA300 adhesive is perfect for fully bonding engineered wood flooring and is suitable for use with most substrates including, sand and cement, concrete and Anhydrite/Calcium sulphate-based screeds, stone, metal and timber and is also compatible with underfloor heating.

This contract adhesive has also been tested and is fully compatible with the Marldon range of subfloor preparation products including primers, smoothing compounds and liquid damp proof membranes.

How to prepare wood flooring for installation with Marldon MXA300 Adhesive

All phases of installation should comply with BS 8201, the wood manufacturer’s instructions and/or other local installations standards and codes of practice.

  1. Ensure the subfloor is flat, clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants that may hinder adhesion (e.g., paint, varnish, polish, old residues and plaster spots.)
  2. Existing wooden subfloors must have an effective membrane system or vented void beneath to prevent moisture/humidity ingress into the wood. The subfloor should be tested in accordance with British Standards and a properly calibrated and insulated hygrometer should be used.
  3. Ensure the wood is acclimatised in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Always allow an expansion gap against all fixed objects to allow for natural movement of the timber when bonded.
  4. Mechanically remove all surface treatments and laitance on concrete bases. Be sure to repair any deep indentations in the subfloor using a compatible levelling compound or repair mortar.
  5. Lightly abrade calcium sulphate to remove any surface laitance that may negatively affect adhesion. If needed, apply a suitable Marldon smoothing compound at a minimum thickness of 3mm.
  6. Ensure substrate is suitable for the adhesive before application. Porous substrates should be primed with MXS120 Universal Primer. Always prime before applying a suitable Marldon smoothing compound to calcium sulphate screed.
